Safety & Security

BVSD provides a number of resources and programs aimed at protecting student personal safety and preventing children and youth from initiating or engaging in harmful behaviors.

We take the safety of our students very seriously.  All exterior doors are locked at all times.  When entering our school, all visitors must bring a picture ID and enter through our front entrance.  A video phone is located on the wall in our entry and visitors can buzz our front office to be allowed in.  Staff will ask all visitors for a picture id and what their intent for visiting.  All volunteers in our school are required to complete a background check.  To find out more about volunteering at Emerald, please go to
