Adult Literacy GED Program

    ​​BVSD provides adult literacy and GED classes for adults at Emerald. ​​​​



    Prepare for the GED!  Learn English!
    Free Classes are offered at Emerald Elementary on Tuesday –Thursday from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m durnig the school year.
    Free preschool and homework help is also available for ages 2 ½ to 5th grade

    Program Information:  
     
    There is no cost.  It is a grant funded program.  Anyone interested in the Adult Literacy or GED programs can call the office at 720-561-5826. This program is set up for all families in Boulder County.  

    GED and ESL classes available. Classes use a variety of curriculum to assist the teacher. All teachers are certified to teach Adult Education by CDE.  The GED is Depth of Knowledge.  We use the CCSS and CCRS as a basis to guild instruction.  
     
    Homework Help is available for those in grades 1 to 5.  A preschool group is available for children between 2-5 years to help prepare them for a preschool setting.   We also have PACT with the adult and children the last 30 minutes one time per week.  This is a bonding and modeling time for the parents. 

    Enrollment takes place every 4 to 6 weeks.  The classes begin in August and will end in May.  To register you must call the office  and set up an orientation appointment.  
     
    Classes are available to all languages. We have individuals from China, Korea, Nepal, Guatemala, Spain, Gana, Russia and the list goes on and on.  You only need to want to learn English.
